Bird Update!

I have been checking on the bird eggs daily and after a couple days I saw this......

and then a couple of hours later.......

I guess I have never been that close to a baby bird. They would lift up there heads and open their mouths wide for mama to bring them some food. They could only do it a couple of times and then they would have to take a little rest. So cute! I will continue to keep an eye on them. I can't wait until they get fuzzy!

For the birds

This is the second birds nest we have had in our trees near the garage. The last one I discovered after the birds had already hatched. I found this one yesterday and I'm hoping that I can catch them hatching this time.

Ducks in our yard!

Well, it rained so much in April that the Mallards must have mistaken our yard for their nearby watering hole. Of course we had to throw out some bread for them!

Sweet and Sassy

Lily went to her first Sweet and Sassy party. The girls had a blast and looked so cute in their dresses and glittered up hair.

Dirty Kids

Since the weather has been nicer, the kids play outside for a few hours everyday. They love to play in the mud and find all kinds of bugs. I have never seen two kids that LOVE to play with worms so much. Yesterday, Lily put several worms in Noah's sock and rolled them up for safe keeping. YUCK! I made her take them all out before she brought the sock in the house so I could wash it.

Kitchen and bitchin rhyme...

Yes, when you have a five year old that is very interested in reading, writing and rhyming you hear some very strange things.

Last night in the bath , Lily was rhyming words, some were real words and some were made up to go along with what ever word needed a rhyming partner. Toy and boy, mother and brother..... kitchen and bitchin (what!).

This television season, I have been keeping up with The Bachelor London Calling. Lily is usually up at this time and she has been watching it with me. Last night the bachelor said goodbye to one of the final three. As she was leaving in the limo Lily said "Can't he just give her a rose to take home!". Ah yes, in the mind of a five year old, it's all about the rose.

Definitions by Noah...

Workercise- what mommy does at the gym

last morning-this could mean yesterday or the last time he did whatever he is talking about.

Drawing Daddy

Lily was drawing a picture of a person on the magnadoodle and I asked her who it was. She said "it's Daddy in a handsome suit". A "handsome suit" is a tuxedo! Soooo cute!

The Botanic Gardens

Today we went to the gardens with Lily's friend, Elsa. the kids ate a picnic lunch and fed the fish. The weather was perfect and we can't wait to go back again!

T Ball Time!

Rain, Rain, Go Away.......finally, Lily got to go to t-ball practice. She did really well but seemed to be bored as the practice went on. An hour and a half is a long time to focus, especially when there are friends to talk to.
What a mess. After raining for two days straight, the ball field was very muddy, but lots of fun for Noah.

Go Tigers Go!

Friday was Tiger Day at Lily's school. So I decided even though I really could care less about basketball, that I would join in on the fun. I made basketball sugarcookies for her class. It was my first experience with royal icing and I think they turned out pretty cute. They were yummy too!

Cupcake pops! How cute are these?

I found this blog a couple of weeks ago (Bakerella) and now this chick is going to be on Martha Stewart Thursday for cupcake week. Be sure to check it out! I don't know if I'm more impressed with her baking or the photography!

Kids say the craziest things!

Some days while Noah is taking a nap, Lily and I take a bath. That is when I can find out all the scoop at school and we talk about all kinds of crazy things. On this day she just kept repeating the word psychiatrist. I asked her what a psychiatrist was and she said "a person who blows up thing and wears goggles". I think she meant a scientist.

We were eating dinner last night and Matt asked if we had any more ranch. Noah said "no daddy we don't have any more ranch but we have a screwdriver. I think he thought Matt was asking for a wrench!
